Co-Founder and CEO
Mr. Kiefer possesses a unique combination of business and technical expertise. A veteran of the Internet and e-commerce, Mr. Kiefer is no stranger to start-up businesses. Prior to co-founding BabyAge.com, he was responsible for building the first Fixed Income Trading Intranet for Banc of America Securities as he served as the Vice President of Corporate Securities Trading.
Preceding Banc of America, Mr. Kiefer was Vice President of Technology for iBaby.com, the first e-commerce initiative for iVillage. Mr. Kiefer designed and managed the development of the e-commerce system for iBaby, with his most notable achievements coming with the Advanced Merchandising tools as well as Complete Inventory Management. During Mr. Kiefer's tenure, iBaby revenues increased from $15,000 per month to $500,000 per month over a 6 month period.
He also consulted with several start-up and small businesses on the Internet Development and Business and Marketing Planning. He received his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and his MBA in Entrepreneurial Management/Small Business Consulting from Drexel University.
Jacob Weiss

Mr. Weiss is a veteran of the Baby Products industry. He was the founder and President of Cotton Times, inc., a wholesale distributor and manufacturer of baby products. Within the scope of his business, he Read Moresupplied retailers in the domestic and international markets with baby products. His duties as President of Cotton Times, Inc., included managing a strong sales force, merchandising and overseeing the company's product and back office administration. His extensive background in the Baby Products industry has helped him develop and maintain relationships with various manufacturers throughout the industry. Through Mr. Weiss' leadership, BabyAge, receives preferred pricing from its vendors.
Prior to founding Cotton Times, Inc., Mr. Weiss directed Precious Baby, an infant and juvenile bedding manufacturing business. His keen sense for managing manufacturing efficiencies and controlling quality has helped him prevail in the industry. Mr. Weiss is also a specialist in the merchandising and manufacturing industry. His proficiency extends to managing and maintaining a profitable business.
Julie D. Space
Vice President of Marketing and the Customer Experience

In this role, she manages all of the marketing, advertising and branding activities along with customer relationship programs designed to deliver the best possible customer experience.
Ms. Space has nearly 20 years of experience in the marketing, advertising and customer service arena. Prior to joining BabyAge.com, Ms. Space was senior manager of marketing communications at Frontier Communications Solutions, where she was responsible for leading the development of national marketing campaigns and customer service strategies to drive revenues in the consumer segment. Prior to this role, she worked for Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises where she served in several senior management roles and was instrumental in developing innovative marketing and customer experience programs that drove industry leading penetrations for High-Speed Internet, Phone Bundles and Satellite TV.
She attended College Misericordia, Dallas, Pennsylvania, where she studied business with an emphasis on consumer marketing and is a graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Leadership Wilkes-Barre Alumni Council and active volunteer for non-profit organizations including the Wyoming Valley Children's Association and American Cancer Society.

Marty coordinates merchandising and operations management with Vice President of Sales, Jacob Weiss and Julie Space, Vice President of Marketing and the Customer Experience.
Marty resides in Moscow PA with wife Christine, 3 children Patrick (age 9), Martin (age 8) and Rylie (age 6), and 2 golden retrievers Sydney and Shelby.
Currently pursuing APICS certification in Supply Chain Management, Marty enjoys mountain biking, Xterra and road triathlons.
Pete Mercatili
Vice President of Financial Control and Accounting
Mr. Mercatili has over 12 years of corporate finance experience working with companies that had over a billion-dollar market capitalization. Prior to joining BabyAge, Pete was senior manager of finance for Commonwealth Telephone Company, widely considered the most efficient ILEC in the telecom industry. Monitoring, analyzing and working with operations on improving margins and adhering to financial plans were Pete's main focus. Prior to Commonwealth, Pete was a senior financial analyst for First USA Bank NA (now Chase). There, he assisted in the rapid expansion of the business and worked through multiple consolidations and integrations while constantly improving efficiencies.
Pete received his undergraduate degree from Marywood University and is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and is also an alumnus of Leadership Lackawanna.

He serves on the Board of Advisors for Pixel Bridge, Inc, a Boston-based Internet consulting firm, and on the Advisory Board of Give Us Your Poor, an organization that brings together the latest research, multimedia, celebrities, non-celebrities, homeless people, and partner organizations to help end homelessness.

Ned joined Brook Venture Partners in 1999 as a General PartnerRead More and a member of the fund's Investment Committee and is an active investor in and serves on several of Brook's portfolio company board of directors in both medical and information technology. Ned is a steering committee member of The Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center, which offers inventors and executives of the state's smaller medical device company's easy, affordable, and coordinated access to world-class researchers and resources.
Prior to joining Brook, Ned was a Managing Director at Saturn Asset Management, a Boston-based private equity firm. He was involved with all aspects of the firm's investment activities, including leading the financing of both Roving Software (CTCT) and FreeMarkets Online a Pittsburg based company that was brought public by Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs and closed on its first day of trading with a market capitalization in excess of 10 Billion Dollars.
Earlier in his career he was with Morgan Stanley in New York City where he was involved with over 25 Initial Public Offerings including the Netscape IPO as well as the spinout of Lucent Technologies from AT&T.
Ned holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
